🏥 MEPPADI FAMILY HEALTH CENTRE
The Meppadi Family Health Centre (Ayushman Arogya Mandir PHC) in Wayanad district has brought pride to the state by achieving the latest National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) certification from the National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC), under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. The centre has achieved this remarkable milestone by fully complying with the stringent standards prescribed by the Central Government to ensure the quality of healthcare services provided to the public. This national recognition is a testament to the exemplary role played by the health centre in providing quality healthcare facilities to ordinary people in rural areas.
The NQAS certification was awarded to the Meppadi Health Centre following an on-site assessment conducted by a national-level team of external assessors. The centre qualified with an outstanding score of 97.19%. The assessment team found that the centre maintained high standards in areas including the Outpatient Department (OPD), advanced laboratory facilities, and the effective implementation of National Health Programmes (NHPs). A patient-friendly environment and transparent administrative system also played a crucial role in achieving this exceptional score.
This achievement has been made possible through the joint efforts of the Local Self-Government Institutions, the Health Department, and the National Health Mission (NHM). The progress achieved by the centre in infrastructure development and quality patient care serves as an excellent model for other healthcare institutions. This national recognition will further strengthen the Meppadi Family Health Centre in its efforts to provide improved and free healthcare services to the people of the hilly regions of Wayanad in the years ahead.
🏥 Meppadi Grama Panchayat Ayurveda Mobile Dispensary
The Meppadi Dispensary, the only mobile dispensary in Wayanad district, is one of the top three dispensaries in the district in terms of the number of patients served. The institution stands out not only for its patient care but also for its remarkable performance in fund mobilisation. In the previous year alone, the centre was able to mobilise funds ranging from ₹10 lakh to ₹30 lakh. The fact that no other dispensary or hospital receives such a substantial amount of funding is further evidence of the institution’s outstanding performance and effective functioning.
The dispensary has also established an excellent track record of performance, which is clearly demonstrated before inspection teams visiting from the Health Department and other official authorities. The Government Homoeopathic Dispensary functioning at Meppadi in Wayanad district is an important public healthcare institution that ensures free and effective homoeopathic treatment services for the local population.
